Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins acquired Taylor Hall before the NHL trade deadline in April to give the roster much-needed scoring depth.

The move largely worked out as Hall played excellent during the regular season with 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 16 games. He was also effective in the first round of the playoffs against the Washington Capitals before struggling to score in a second-round series loss versus the New York Islanders.

Hall has always been viewed as an ideal Bruins player because of his power-forward style of play. It took 11 years for him to finally arrive in Boston, but what if he had spent his whole career here?

In the latest "Simulation Station", our partners at Strat-O-Matic examined the alternate reality of the Bruins selecting Taylor Hall, instead of Tyler Seguin, in the 2010 NHL Draft.

Free agent Taylor Hall sees "fit" with Bruins, would like to return

In the simulation, Hall tallied 609 points (259 goals, 350 assists) in his first 11 years for the Bruins. His best season came in 2013-14 when he tallied career highs in both goals (39) and assists (53).

The most interesting part of the simulation was Boston's playoff success. In this alternate reality, Hall wins three Stanley Cup titles with the B's -- 2013 against the Blackhawks, 2014 against the Kings and 2020 against the Blues.

Tyler Seguin was drafted by the Oilers in our simulation and never made the playoffs in six seasons with Edmonton.
