In an emotional moment following Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph, Cristiano Ronaldo delivered a dressing room speech where he thanked his team-mates and manager Fernando Santos.
Ronaldo suffered an injury in the eighth minute of the final after a challenge from Dimitri Payet and, despite attempts to play on, he was eventually forced off in the 25th minute.
However, Ronaldo remained a vocal presence on the sidelines, joining Santos in his technical area to encourage his team-mates.
In extra-time, former Swansea City striker Eder netted what proved to be the winning goal with an excellent 25 yard strike.
Speaking to his team-mates after the win, Ronaldo said: "I would like to thank this man right here [Santos], first of all without him none of this would be possible.© Twitter/@selecaoportugal Cristiano Ronaldo gave an emotional speech after Portugal won Euro 2016
"Second, to all the players, all the staff, everyone involved in this conquest. No one believed in Portugal, but the truth is we made it. All of us, we did it.
"I am very happy, this is one of the happiest days of my life."
He continued: "Forget the individual trophies, Champions League - this is one of the happiest moments of my life.
"I have cried three of four times already and my brother had to tell me to calm down. And I said: 'Hugo, I can't'.
"It's true, from the bottom of my heart, I swear on my son's life, I am so very, very, very happy. I could repeat this 100 times. I am so happy. This is the trophy that was missing.

"I feel as motivated or even more than in 2004 when I played my first European tournament," he told Canal 11.
"We are the defending champions, and we are part of a new group of candidates to win the trophy.
"The Portuguese can expect the same as always, a national team with a lot of enthusiasm and ambition. We have a positive thought which is that things are going to go well.
"I asked the Portuguese people at home and abroad to think positively. We have worked well, my teammates and I, as well as the coach.
"The groundwork is done and we just need to fine-tune a few things. Now is the time for the ball to roll so that Portugal can give its best and start the tournament on the right foot with a win against Hungary."
